Pacific Blue Sangria (Cocktail)

Ingredients:
  • 1 bottle dry white wine
  • 1/2 cup Blue Curacao
  • 1/2 cup lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup sugar syrup
  • 2 oranges, sliced
  • 1 cup pineapple chunks
  • 7-Up, as needed
Method: Combine all ingredients except 7-Up in a large jug and stir well. Cover and refrigerate for 4 hours. Add 7-Up.

Frozen Sangria (Cocktail)

Ingredients:
  • 2 cups red wine
  • 2 cups frozen fruit
  • 1 cup sugar syrup
  • 1/2 cup Cointreau
  • 1/2 cup 7-Up
Method: Combine all ingredients in blender with 1 cup of ice. Blend until smooth. To make it thicker, add more ice and blend again. Pour into glasses.

Wildberry Sangria (Cocktail)

Ingredients:
  • 3/4 cup strawberries, sliced
  • 3/4 cup blueberries
  • 3/4 cup raspberries
  • 3/4 cup blackberries
  • 3/4 cup boysenberries
  • 3/4 cup sugar syrup
  • 1 bottle red wine
  • 1/2 cup triple sec
  • 1/2 cup berry-flavoured vodka
  • 1 cup orange juice
Method: In saucepan, combine all berries with sugar syrup over low heat. Stir constantly until berries just begin to soften and discolour. Set aside. Combine remaining ingredients into a large jug. Add berry mixture (berries and liquid) and stir well. Cover and refrigerate for 4 hours.

 

Spanish Sangria (Cocktail)

Ingredients:
  • 1 bottle red wine (if possible, get Spanish red wine)
  • 1/4 cup Cognac
  • 1/4 cup orange curacao
  • 1/4 cup sugar syrup
  • 2 oranges, sliced
  • 2 peaches, sliced
  • 2 lemons, sliced
Method: Place all ingredients into large jug and stir well. Cover and refrigerate for 4 hours.

Mom's Sangria (Cocktail)

Ingredients:
  • 2 bottles red wine (if possible, get Spanish red wine)
  • 360ml Cognac
  • 360ml Cointreau
  • 360ml orange juice
  • 240ml sugar syrup
  • 2 broken cinnamon sticks
  • 3-4 lemons, cut to wedges
  • 3-4 oranges, sliced
  • 12 strawberries, sliced
  • 7-Up, as needed
Method: Place wine, Cognac, Cointreau, orange juice and sugar syrup in large container and stir well. Cover and refrigerate overnight. When ready, pour into ice filled pitcher to 2/3 full. Add fruits, top with 7-Up and stir gently.

Fresh Sour recipe

Fresh sour is another ingredient that is mostly used in sangria drinks. I'm not sure if you can buy fresh sour in stores, but if you can't then here is the recipe that I found.

Ingredients:
  • 1/4 cup lime juice
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup sugar syrup
Method: In a small bowl, glass, or empty clean wine bottle; combine all the ingredients. Stir, or shake the bottle, cover and keep refrigerated until ready to use.

Witch's Kiss (Mocktail)

Ingredients:
  • 150ml tropical juice
  • Dash lemon juice
  • Dash sugar syrup
  • 15ml grenadine
  • Soda water
Method: Shake all ingredients, except soda water, with ice and pour into glass. Top with the soda water.

Mocquiri (Mocktail)

Ingredients:
  • 60ml apple juice
  • 15ml lemon juice
  • 15ml sugar syrup
Method: Blend all ingredients with ice and strain into glass.

Andy Williams (Mocktail)

Ingredients:
  • 60ml Claytons Tonic
  • 15ml lime juice
  • Dash sugar syrup
  • Soda water
Method: Shake all ingredients, except soda water, with ice. Strain into glass and top with soda water.

Sugar Syrup recipe

This is another ingredient that may appear in some of the recipes on this blog site.

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup water
Method: In a medium saucepan, combine sugar and water. Bring to boil, stirring, until sugar has dissolved. Allow to cool.

Mint Julep (Cocktail)

Ingredients:
  • 40ml Bourbon whiskey
  • Sugar syrup
  • 3 spring mints
Method: Muddle the sugar syrup and mint in a glass. Add Bourbon and some ice. Stir well.

Strawberry Gin Martini (Cocktail)

Ingredients:
  • 5 ripe strawberries, crushed
  • 75ml London Dry gin
  • 15ml sugar syrup
  • 2 pinches black pepper
Method: Put the crushed strawberries in the bottom of the cocktail shaker. Fill the shaker with ice, and add the rest of the ingredients. Shake well and strain into glass.

Gin Fizz (Cocktail)

Ingredients:
  • 60ml gin
  • 40ml lemon juice
  • Sugar syrup
  • Soda water
Method: Fill the cocktail shaker with ice, and pour in the gin, juice and a dash of sugar syrup. Shake, strain into glass and top with soda water and stir.
